Overview of Responsibilities
The Events Coordinator will manage and lead all events to engage donors, volunteers, advocates and partners. This person will work closely with Board Members to advance our fundraising goals. The successful candidate must be an effective and positive communicator, able to manage concurrent projects and offer creative solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
● Manage fundraising, outreach and recognition events to meet revenue goals, inspire engagement, thank supporters, and provide high quality guest experiences. Includes management of:
    ○ Venue logistics, vendors, volunteers, committee/staff tasks, digital platform, materials & promotion, sponsor/donor outreach & recognition, and budget/event analysis.
    ○ Examples of UWCC events include Iron Chef Goes Coastal, Chowder Crawl, Watermelon Eating Contest, donor/volunteer engagement/recognition, online raffles/auctions, etc.
● Work with volunteers to plan & execute marketing plans for key events, including social media, digital and print communications outreach and advertising.
● Attend community meetings to advance UWCC vision and promote events.
● Support external fundraising events with community partners as needed.
● Conduct weekly support tasks such as picking up mail, depositing donations, etc.
● Additional duties as assigned based on interests, talents, and ability.
Experience/Position Requirement
● Professional, positive and friendly interpersonal and customer service skills. Commitment to equality, kindness, integrity and confidentiality at all times.
● Excellent oral and written communication skills.
● Adaptable with strong multi-tasking & prioritizing skills.
● 2 years of proven success in event planning, particularly for mid-large scale events. Relevant project management experience may be considered.
● Able to work both independently and with teams of staff and volunteers.
● Computer skills required: high proficiency with all Microsoft Office and Google Drive products. Experience with online fundraising/event platforms and ability to master new platforms and databases.
● Experience with project management and graphic design products/software preferred.
● Bachelor’s Degree, with concentration in event management, business or communications, preferred.
● Physical needs of position may include extended periods of sitting or standing and lifting items up to 30 pounds.
● Use of your own vehicle in performance of duties will be needed. Standard mileage reimbursement is provided (excluding daily commute).

Work Environment
This position involves sitting, standing, walking, stooping, occasionally carrying and lifting lightweight to moderate weight materials. May be required to sit for extended periods of time.

Employment Terms
● 20 hours per week
● More hours may be required as needed
● Beginning at $22.00/hour
● Flexible Hybrid schedule: Prefer 2 days work from home and 2 on-site in Astoria, frequent community meetings
